still talking about mittens…

But I swear it’s the last post for awhile ‘k??!

sewing up mittens!

I finally got around sewing those 8 pairs of mittens! It’s more difficult these weeks to get to my sewing machine since Rachel is not going to the babysitter (they are sick) that means I get more hugs and kisses though… 🙂

Mittens are all listed here.

I’ve got 3 pairs of kids size 3-5

3 other pairs of kids size 5-8

and 2 pairs of men size large.

Not bad 🙂 I was pretty low on mittens stock on my Etsy (yeah I know that I’m low on cosmetic cases too…. and doggies… and…) Should be good for awhile 🙂

Pattern try: stuffed elephant!

I know… but I couldn’t pass up the 20% etsy coupon Kim over at retromama was offering lol! And I wanted a new pattern, so there you go!

eco-friendly stuffed elephant made from reclaimed fabrics

I was all happy to make something new, but I’m not sure I’m liking the way I made it, with 2 different fabrics for the body.  I had a really hard time stuffing it to my liking (and this one is not there yet). What do you guys think?? a keeper?! maybe I should try it with only 2 fabrics instead of 3?

This little guy is made from a men’s pants, shirt and ears from a necktie. I hand embroidered the eyes. Now it’s listed in my shop… so I’ll see from there too.

I’ve also made 2 doggies since I had sold the last one 🙂

Eco stuffed dog, made from upcycled materials

This boy is made from 2 men’s pants, shirt and ears from a necktie (it’s a close cousin to the previous elephant!) it’s listed here.

This girlie, Oh I really like this one!  is made from denim pants (jeans), 2 women’s shirt and a fabric remnant. She features on one side a pocket from the shirt 🙂 she’s right here.

All of those stuffed toys are made using retromama patterns, you can get your own right here!

New necktie bags!

I’ve been busy, and I finally sewn all the necktie bags I had cut!

As usual, they are made from men’s suit pants, shirts and neckties 🙂
these are probably going in a shop in Jonquière as a Lady asked to have my stuff over there!

This one is already list in my shop!

All the bags have the pant’s pockets at the back, and I am happy because I found a way to use one pant to make 2 bags! So there is even less waste!

Now, on to make 2 special orders….

A little overview of what I’ve sewn for the last couple of weeks!

First I made a new old school bag using vintage fabric and wool pants, listing here.

I also made a new pencil or cosmetic pouch (listing here) Using the same fabric and pants. I played a little with backgrounds for the pictures for the shop and I’m not completely satisfied with them so I might redo these.

And I finally made a new cocktail bag that I’m very pleased with 😉 using pants, necktie and blouse. (again, listing here)

Besides that, I’ve done something for Julien that he was very happy with! Found a brown plain tee at the thrift and did some reverse appliqué  again…

I need to resize it though because it’s still too big.

And I made a tunic dress for Rachel from the book Girl’s world. As I put it on her, Camille walk in and went like: Cool you made her a nightgown…. duh!

Dress for Rachel

So I add yo-yos so it won’t be looking to much of a night dress…

Dress for Rachel

The turquoise fabric was some left overs from when I did summer capri and top for both my nieces years ago and the white fabric is left over from her curtain 😉

Some stuff got added to my shop too! And I’m glad to report that my goals for the week have been achieved! (if you want to participate go here)

eco-friendly bucket bag

First I finished a bucket bag that I’ve cut a long long time ago.

I’m quite happy with the birdie. I tried machine embroidering it and I really like the finish (besides saving me quite some time in the making!)

And sew the last batch of scarves:

I might post a refashion I did for Camille’s room soon !!!!! :))
