Tree-link

Posted on

Yep! another one 🙂 We went at tree-link last friday. But don’t worry, mommy as been “cool” since then and stayed home very quietly for the week end 🙂

THe kids really liked it.

I was very proud of my boy for over coming his heights fear and doing it all like a big boy! He was proud and happy of himself too.

Hubby liked it too, even though it was the trail for kids.

I stayed with Rachel clipping and unclipping her at each new segment. She LOVED it. It was pure pleasure , this kid is going to fear nothing in life, let me tell you…

Camille went to the water slides with a friend on saturday and sunday she went horse riding with daddy… She won’t have a boring summer to tell…

Busy vacations

Posted on

Man, I’m pooped…  I think I’ll need vacations from the family vacations.

Wednesday, I went mountain climbing (hiking) with Camille, Thursday all the family went to the big attraction park called La Ronde

The kids were thrilled to go there.

La Ronde!

Not the adults.

La ROnde

I think it’s something you outgrow…

La Ronde!

La Ronde!

But seeing Rachel’s face in the rides really was worth the entrance fees 🙂

La Ronde!

She LOVED everything!

La Ronde!

Camille brought a friend along and both girls were happy to go on the big rides.

La Ronde!

Yep the girlies went right up there. Not mommy.

La Ronde!

The weather was perfect. Cloudy all day and not hot.

La ROnde

Not too many people too and that was amazing.

La ROnde

My boy had fun too and chatted the whole time we were here…

Finally!

I’ve been wanting for a long time a plank of plywood to use as a photo background. Not knowing we had it home stored somewhere. Duh. MY hubby kindly cut it off to fit the table. Now I have a background for my pictures. AND a background for birthday parties! YAY! I really like the distressed look for wood so I went to work on it a bit.

Here’s a small tutorial if you want to have one yourself.

distressed background tutorial

First, since it was stored for a long time and it was used for a seeding table,  I vacuumed  it 🙂

then I paint a coat of white, roughly, without thinking too much.

That was the easy part  ha.

white paint finish:

Then, I sanded it here and there (sorry no picture for this one!)

And I used some steel wool to give a grey finish a bit everywhere…

I really like the finished look! And I can ham a nail on it to hang my handbags! It will be so much easier to use than my rolling blind (that keeps falling off) 🙂

I started to use it to take pictures ….

special order for a wedding!

It is much easier to edit with this back ground than a white toile and I think light is more diffuse too, less harsh.

Pickle holder, vintage tupperware!

I can put it standing up or lying down, and I think I’ll use the left over and do the same process so I’ll have both a back ground and a table top. I think pictures will look better than with white cardboard…

I’ll be using it for Julien’s birthday too, I’ll post some pictures soon!
